BREAKING NEWS: Catalina Island Pottery & Tile exhibit at the San Francisco Airport Museums, beginning February 2008. The world'slargest display of vintage Catalina Pottery & Tile to date (made on Catalina Island during the 20s and 30s) will be coming soon. More information to follow. Carole Coates guest curates this unique and original approach to Catalina’s “pottery by the sea”. Domestic travelers and special guests will be able to view this exhibit in the Museum’s United Airlines Terminal three space, with over 40 large cases, showcasing over a thousand objects from the collections of Ms. Coates and Jerry Kunz, including over a hundred historic images. With millions of visitors a year it is hoped that this exhibit will “reach and teach” the general public about this amazing art movement that occurred during the Spanish Revival on the “island of Romance”.SHOWS
