Carole Coates is a featured speaker at well-known pottery and tile conferences, a contributor to numerous exhibits, including those to be found in the books Beautiful Bauer, and Monterey: Furnishings of California’s Spanish Revival, among others, Carole is currently curating a comprehensive new Museum show–on display from February 2008 at the San Francisco Airport Museums main gallery–on Catalina Pottery and Tile. Carole is a member of the American Art Pottery Association, the L.A. Conservancy, and the Catalina Island Museum, and can be found exhibiting her specialized collections for sale at major California pottery, tile, and furnishings shows or on her web site shop. She continues her original research on topics which include Monterey Furntiure, Malibu and San Jose tile, and Mexican-American and Latino artists of the early 20th Century.
